VALE John Clift : 1st Grade cap 27

Vale: John Clift - BDCC 1st Grade Cap Number 27. The Club was saddened this week to hear of the passing of John Clift, 1st Grade Cap number 27, who played with the Club in the 1950s and early 1960s. The Bankstown Club was formed in 1951 and we won our first 1st Grade premiership in 1958-59. John Clift was a member of that side alongside teammates of that season Bob Madden, Ron Briggs, Jack Giffen, Grahame Thomas, Bruce Urry, Ken Hall, Bill Britton, Bill Gibson, Ken Rogers, Wal Pickles, Derek Lonsdale, Alan Kelly, Alan Ellis, Norm Seach and Jeff Hickey. SCG (and former Bankstown Oval) curator steps down

Tom Parker, the highly-respected curator at the Sydney Cricket Ground for 20 years is stepping down. Tom served his apprenticeship at Birrong Bowls before moving to Bankstown Oval before landing one of the highest profile jobs in cricket at the SCG. Everyone at Bulldogs Cricket wishes Tom every success in his next chapter after an exceptional career.
